PUNCH NEEDLE TAPESTRY
For the final assignment during my preparatory course in Sustainable Design at Krabbesholm Højskole, I chose to focus on my fascination for repurposing material and curiosity about natural dyeing. For a week I was testing natural dyes on different materials, and even the lightest colour you see in the tapestry, was my first test, when I tried dyeing a synthetic bed linen with turmeric. Quickly I became more aware of the materials I needed, and the majority of the tapestry consists of repurposed cotton bed linen from a charity shop. The project took 3 weeks.
